THE WEEKEND STARTS HERE:

...with BURT BACHARACH! The debonair pop composer, arranger, conductor, record producer and occasional singer whose hit songs in the 1960s distilled that decade’s mood of romantic optimism, died on Wednesday at his home in Los Angeles. He was 94.  His musical legacy is massive, having co-written “(The Man Who Shot) Liberty Valance,” "Baby, It's You," “What the World Needs Now Is Love,” “The Look of Love,” “What’s New Pussycat?,”  “Walk On By,” “I Say a Little Prayer,” “This Guy’s in Love With You,” “(They Long to Be) Close to You,” “Raindrops Keep Fallin’ on My Head,” “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do),” and even "Always Something There To Remind Me,"just to name a few.  The Stereogum obit has comments from Dionne Warwick. The Guardian has a medley of Bacharach playing the hits. We shall not see his like again.

THE EDGE, on Television as an inspiration for U2.

BLACK SABBATH, but in a ballet.

GRAHAM NASH remembers DAVID CROSBY at AARP.
