RAY THOMAS, a founding member of the British rock group the Moody Blues, died on Thursday at his home in Surrey, south of London, months before the band is to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle topped the chart with 36MM on a leggy 28 percent drop and may reach 300MM domestic.  Insidious: The Last Key placed close behind with 29.3MM, a bit surprising given the five-year gap since the prior, underperforming installment.  The Last Jedi showed, dropping out of the top spot a week or two earlier than people may have expected, with 23.6MM on a 55 percent drop.  The Greatest Showman held on to the fourth spot with 13.8MM on a mere 11 percent drop and worldwide grosses that look like this thing will at least break even. Pitch Perfect 3 rounded out the Top Five with 10.2MM on a 39 percent drop; I keep going back and forth on whether trhat's good enough to warrant a fouth.
