I AM EXPERIENCING TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. IN THE MEANTIME, ENJOY:

BEACHWOOD SPARKS stopped by Morning Becomes Eclectic for a session.

THE VACCINES offer a free EP covering ABBA, Wire and Jonathan Richman.

DIGNAN PORCH is advance streaming Nothing Bad Will Ever Happen.

LET IT BE: A full MP3 LP via Cover Me.

THE BEASTIE BOYS: According to his will, filed in court this week, the late Adam Yauch's image, music and art are never to be licensed for advertising.

DEERHOOF talks to Stereogum about the making of Breakup Song.

THE LUMINEERS talk to the Boston Globe about Boston, songwriting and social media.

AC/DC Wines.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The Bourne Legacy dethrones The Dark Knight Rises, topping your chart with 40.3 million.  That's a bit below projections and suggests this one will need those overseas receipts to make money.  The Campaign places with 27.4 million.  Batman shows with 19.5 million.  Hope Springs Debuts in the fourth slot with 15.6 million.  Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days rounds out the Top 5 with 8.2 million.  Below the fold, Total Recall is flopping bigtime.

THE BOURNE LEGACY is a decent action film, but easily the least of the Bourne franchise. While I apparently was a lot more comfortable than many with Jeremy Renner taking the reins from Matt Damon, the script enabling it requires so much exposition that the big action gets backloaded, making for an uneven pace.

ROBERT PATTINSON: Getting over his anger phase and contemplating a reconciliation with Kristen Stewart?

TOM CRUISE & KATIE HOLMES: Suri Holmes is reportedly happy and well adjusted since their shocking split.

JESSICA SIMPSON's dad got busted for DUI.

DARREN ARANOFSKY is tweeting a storm about Noah and the flood.

HEATHER GRAHAM is set to return for The Hangover, Part III.

THE 10 BEST SHARKS in Pop Culture.

YEMEN: As happened in Iraq, tribal militias have joined the campaign against the local franchise of al-Qaeda.

SYRIA: The US and Turkey discussed Syria, including a potential no-fly zone and the possibility of a Syrian chemical attack. The US said it would collaborate with Turkey to set up a "working group" to address the Syrian conflict. The Obama administration charged Friday that Lebanon-based Hezbollah is directly assisting Syria’s brutal domestic military crackdown and announced new sanctions against the group and the government of Pres. Assad.

IRAQ: Terrorists are resurgent, benefitting from the unrest in neighboring Syria.
