WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Hop dropped, but is still the tops with 21.7 million, recouping its 63 million production budget. The regurgitation of Arthur placed with 12.6 million, which has to be disappointing from an almost 3300 screen opening. Heh. Sadly, overseas receipts may bail out Russell Brand here.  Hanna was right behind with 12.3 million, which was likely a surprise to the good side.  Soul Surfer's 11.1 million opening (against an 18 million budget) was definitely a surprise and a testament to the strategy of marketing to church youth groups.  Insidious rounds out the Top Five with 9.7 million... and a 27 million total to date against a 1.5 million budget.  Below the fold, Your Highness opened in sixth with 9.5 million against a 50 million budget, which spells o-u-c-h.  Apparently, there is not an untapped audience for midieval stoner flicks.

CHARLIE SHEEN's show at Radio City Music Hall was "an aimless and slovenly disaster."

MILA KUNIS was taken aback and a little disgusted that Charlie Sheen publicly named her to be the next addition to the bevy of pr0n stars currently engaged in a polyamorous lifestyle with him.

SIDNEY LUMET, a director who preferred the streets of New York to the back lots of Hollywood and whose stories of conscience - "12 Angry Men," "Serpico," "Dog Day Afternoon," "The Verdict," "Network" - became modern American film classics, died of lymphoma Saturday morning at his home in Manhattan. He was 86.

LIAM NEESON has been cut out of The Hangover, Part II.

TOTAL RECALL: The probably pointless remake boasts Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel so far.

PAKISTAN's nuclear weapons have been conceived and developed as a deterrent against India, but Islamabad may also be holding onto its nuclear arsenal to deter the United States.

AFGHANISTAN: The govt says it will launch a military operation in eastern Nuristan province to recapture Waigal district. The Interior Ministry is also determined to eliminate poppy cultivation in 7 key provinces.

KITTEH & DOLPHINS, playing together...Mass hysteria!

THE SQUIRREL THREAT: Militant rodents have bitten to death a stray dog which was barking at them in a Russian park, local media report.

A GOAT was taken on a tour of Horley's pubs before "rampaging" around a bar when he was let off his lead.

HORSES, albeit small ones, may soon belly up besides diners at Washington restaurants. Didn't they read about the goat?
