SYRIA's army has been pounding major bases of the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria in coordination with the Baghdad government for the last 24 hours, an activist group says Sunday.

IRAQ: Militants from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria boasted on Twitter that they had executed 1700 Iraqi government soldiers, posting gruesome photos to support their claim.
