INRGID MICHAELSON? "Maybe."

NEW RELEASES: Yo La Tengo, Polvo, Sondre lerche, Os Mutantes, Phish, A Fine Frenzy, and more are streaming this week via Spinner. Taken by Trees may still be streaming via NPR (if not, try Drowned In Sound).

BIG STAR is advance streaming the first disc from their upcoming box set, including demos and alternate takes on their classics.

SONDRE LERCHE played the World Cafe on Friday; you can stream the gig on demand via NPR.

DALE WATSON did the four free songs thing for Daytrotter, all taken from Truckin' Sessions: Volume Two.

EARTH, WIND and FIRE: Because it's "September."

THE RAVEONETTES offered an exclusive advance track, "Last Dance," to stream or download at EW. And it's pretty awesome.

THE SIX PILLARS OF SOUTHERN ROCK, according to the Arizona Republic, with embedded audio.

JOHN LENNON: The lost interviews, uncovered by the Times of London.

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. is reuniting for a UK tour in December, to mark the 30th anniversary of their second album, Metal Box.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The Final Destination repeats at No.1, making 15.4 million over the long weekend and clearing a path to be the biggest grosser of the franchise. Inglourious Basterds held a close second with 15 million as it closes in on 100 million domestic, making all concerned smile.  All About Steve debuted in third with 14 million, despite Sandra Bullock and Bradley Cooper in the leads. Indeed, the trajectory over the course of the weekend points to this one tanking quickly.  Gamer debuted in fourth place with 11.2 million, which is good only because of its meager 12 million budget.  District 9 rounded out the Top Five with a 9 million take that pushed it over the 100 million mark domestically.

EXTRACT, the latest comedy from Mike Judge, debuted in tenth which is too bad.  I cannot say that it was as funny as Office Space or Idiocracy, but it deserved a better marketing campaign, and a better fate, than this.  Jason Bateman was as good as always, and Ben Affleck was actually intentionally funny.  Mila Kunis was also as charming as called for, though we could always use more of her.

TILA TEQUILA was hospitalized early Sunday following an altercation with her San Diego Chargers boyfriend, Shawne Merriman.  The linebacker was arrested and accused of choking and restraining his girlfriend, but Merriman suggests he was trying to stop her from leaving because she was intoxicated.

MATT DAMON enjoyed packing on the pounds for his role in The Informant.

LINDSAY LOHAN and her underaged sister Ali were spotted clubbing with Jason Segel (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up, I Love You, Man).

AMY WINEHOUSE and ex husband Blake Fielder-Civil are back together, according to the uber-reliable News of the World.

ZOOEY DESCHANEL grew up believing her sister Emily was from the planet Neptune? That's one among many observations in an interview with the Daily Mail.

DOG PLAYING POOL: Let's go to the video.

PYTHON in a TOILET: Twice the size of a man.

SCOOTER, claimed to be the smallest dog in the world, died after reacting badly to medication following a broken leg.

DOG and CHEETAH, joyriding together... mass hysteria!

JUST WHEN YOU THUOUGHT IT WAS SAFE: Swimming was prohibited at all Atlantic beaches in the picturesque Cape Cod town of Chatham for the remainder of Labor Day weekend after several great white sharks were seen off the coast. What say you, Police Chief Brody?
