WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: The live-action Dumbo tops the chart with 45MM, but that has to disappoint Disney against a reported 170MM production budget, even if it does well in foreign markets. With live-action remakes of Aladdin and The Lion King in the pipeline, the House of Mouse will probably blame the lackluster business on director Tim Burton, and they may be right. Jordan Peele's Us places with 33.6M; that 53 percent drop likely represents pent-up demand for the film and a 128MM total to date against a 20MM budget looks pretty solid. Captain Marvel shows with 20.5MM on a 40 percent drop and will break a Billion dollars world wide this week. Five Feet Apart holds on to the fourth slotwith 6.3MM on a mere 27 percent drop; its 35MM total against a 7MM budget looks like a winner. Unplanned, an R-rated faith-based flick about abortion, manages to round out the Top Five with 6.1MM, roughly the film's production budget.
