You youngsters out there may know him best as the singer of ELP's "Lucky Man," but given the season, I note his solo hit "I Believe in Father Christmas," which (iirc) got to No.2 in the UK behind Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." He also wrote The Guardian to answer the question of whether he could live off the royalties from that tune.

WEEKEND BOX OFFICE: Moana repeated atop the chart 28.4MM on a 50 percent drop, not a surprise given the lack of big new releases. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them placed with 18.6MM on a 59 percent drop, but it's likely into the black already with over 600MM worldwide.  Arrival showed with 7.3MM on a 36 percent drop, rising from the fifth slot -- a leggy showing based on well-deserved word-of-mouth. Allied took the forth slot with 77MM on a 45 percent drop and 29MM total is likely big trouble against an 85MM budget, even if overseas markets deliver big. Doctor Strange rounded out the Top Five with 6.5MM on a 53 percent drop, but is likely well in the black already with 634MM worldwide.
