NOW SHOWING: This weekend's wide releases include Happy Death Day, which isc urrently scoring 67 percent on the ol' Tomatometer; The Foreigner, currently scoring 59 percent; and Professor Marston & the Wonder Women, scoring 91 percent. Marshall opens near-wide (~800 screens) at 86 percent.

HARVEY WEINSTEIN's contract may have contained what a friend of mine dubbed a "pay to prey" clause, pretty much the opposite of what you see in moset showbiz contracts. The Weinstein Co. was aware of prior payoffs at the time.  Weinstein pleaded his case for getting a second chance in Hollywood on his way to "rehab" in Arizona — but he also seemed to take a parting shot at the celebs who've been bashing him.  That list now includes Lea Seydoux (Spectre) and Claire Forlani (Mallrats, Meet Joe Black).

AMAZON STUDIOS gets its own scandal. Allegedly.

OLIVER STONE declined to condemn Harvey Weinstein over the mounting allegations of sexual assault that have engulfed the once celebrated film producer. I can't imagine why he would do this. Or can I?

ED ASNER kept asking his interviewer for a kiss on MSNBC.

CHRIS MARTIN & DAKOTA JOHNSON are getting to know each other.

ROBERT PATTINSON & FKA TWIGS ended their engagement, reportedly.

CHRISTINA APPLEGATE had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed.

A MAGPIE attacks a mail carrier on a motorcycle in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales.
