A very solid start against a 40MM budget for a family film directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish) of all people. A Simple Favor places with 10.4MM, actually climbing a notch on a potentially leggy 35 percent drop. The Nun shows with 10.3MM (meanining second and third could swap when the actual receipts come in) ona 44 percent drop, as the flick breaks the 100MM mark domestic and nears 300MM worldwide. Last week's champ, The Predator, skids into fourth with 8.7MM on a perilous 65 percent drop. Crazy Rich Asians again rounds out the Top Five with anothe r6.5MM on a 25 percent drop; the 30MM rom-com has grossed over 200MM worldwide.

Turn!", "Bells of Rhymney" and "Mr. Tambourine Man", introduced by... David McCallum? LUCKILY, it was a pretty slow "news" day, even if it wasn't a slow news day.
