Baywatch shows with 23MM (27MM since opening), which may be The Rock's first stumble in years against a 69MM production budget.  Alienn: Covenant plunges 64 percent to the fourth spot with 13.1MM and suddenly looks like an endangered species. Everything, Everything rounds out the Top Five with 7.4MM, but 22MM total looks alright against a 10MM production budget.

GREG ALLMAN, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, the incendiary group that inspired and gave shape to both the Southern rock and jam-band movements, died on Saturday at his home in Savannah, Ga. He was 69.  The NYT will also hook you up with 10 definitive Gregg Allman songs.  Allman's manager, Michael Lehman, told NPR News Allman had finished a new album, which would be released in September.
